Hypothesis Model for Design Research

February 14, 2012

With constant multi-variate and A/B testing, we know a lot about how different designs perform against eachother. We also have a regular monthly customer research programme, through which we get a better understanding of why customers do things. We supplement all this with access to research from third parties.

However, doing tests is easy – it’s what you do with the results that counts.

In order to address this issue, I designed a web application that, amongst other things, allows the UX team to collate and interpret research findings of all kinds using “assumptions” (AKA hypotheses) to underpin design work. The presentation below outlines this idea to the wider team.
